Days flew by as I continue my search of the castle libraries in search of clues to where my parents may be and why they remain hidden. If it was not for Dark reminding me that I needed to eat I would have starved myself away in those huge castle rooms. Each day Dark had the castle cook prepare us a wonderful picnic out in the castle gardens. Even if it rained the cook would put up a special tent so I could enjoy the beauty of the gardens while I ate. I enjoyed our daily talks and the daily routine of taking the leftovers to the local church for those in need. Sometimes B1 or Darks brother Heamt would join us for a special lunch date. I greatly enjoyed the company and the little distractions.
I still was no closer to the truth. It seemed that my parents did not want to be found. One day in late summer Dark rushed into my father's library and told me it was time for our picnic lunch. He seemed to be very excited.
" - Ok Dark just give me a moment to put away these books and we can head out to the castle gardens" I said with a smile.
" - Leave them Majesty, the servants will put them away. We must leave now if we are to be back before dark," he said impatiently. I gazed back at him and I could see the mischief in his eyes.
" - And please pray tell where is it we are going in such a rush," I said.
" - Please be patient Majesty. I have already had our mounts prepared for the journey. It is a surprise," he said. I laughed as I realized he would not be as forthcoming with information. B1 rushed into the room out of breath.
" - The mounts are prepared. Dark are you sure you don't want me to ride out with you and our queen?" he asked.
" - We will be fine bro," dark said. The worry in B1 eyes was apparent but he gave me a weak smile and told me to be safe.
" - B1 don't worry I will keep Dark and my self safe this I promise!" I told him reassuringly. His smile widen.
" - I know you will my queen." Dark and I hurried out to our mounts and we set out to this mysterious location. I forgot how beautiful the countryside was here. The views were breathtaking. The villagers were going about their daily chores and the children were out playing. A few waved at us as we passed and a small group of boys offered us some apples from their daily gathering baskets. We continued on our journey when I noticed we were coming up on the mountain pass.
" - Dark is it safe to go where you are taking me?' I asked nervously. Dark brought his horse to a halt.
" - Majesty, I will always protect you. All I am asking is for you to trust me, please." He climbed down from his mount then helped me down from mine. He took my hand in his and grabbed the lead for both of our mounts. We walked to the edge of the pass.
" - For this to work you must close your eyes and trust me." he whispered.
" - Trust him to find the truth" came a hiss.
" - OK!",I whispered back. I closed my eyes and took 2 steps forward.
