As Legolas and I came to the edge of the Murken Forest the vast land of Erandel spread out before us. We could see the lush fields from the surrounding farms and smack in the middle on the horizon was the most beautiful castle I had ever come across. A distant memory crossed my mind. I had been here before but the the memory was a very distant one. We set out toward the direction of the vast castle. I wanted to avoided as much contact as possible since there were bounty hunters out to kill me. I pulled my hood over my head in hopes no one would recognize me. The ride seemed to take forever to reach our destination. The was no mistake once we reached the outer gates of the castle. The massive gates opened as if beckoning me forward. They were expecting me. I dismounted and walked Legalos on foot toward a large and beautiful garden outside the castle's inner doors. A small boy of about 10 years ran towards me with a wide grin on his face.
" - My'Lady welcome to Defy Fate may I take your beautiful mount to the palace stables?' he said with much pride. I glanced down and gave him a warm smile.
" - You may if you will agree to be my escort around the palace. This is my first time here and I am not sure where the main hall is." I said. He straightened his shoulders and gave me his widest grin.
" - It would be my greatest honor My'Lady. It is not often I am asked to escort royalty" he said. He lead me and Legolas to the castle stables. Legolas seemed to have grown a fondness for the young lad as he gave him an apple and brushed the burrs from his coat and silky mane.
" - You have such a beautiful mount My'Lady. What is his name?" he asked as he continued to groom him."Legolas" I said.
" - A very magnificent name for such a stallion" he said.
" - He was a very special gift from a very special friend" i said. After the boy made sure that Legolas was taken care of he grasped my arm and led me through the beautiful gardens to the main door of the castle.
" - Everyone has been working hard to prepare for your arrival. The whole castle is very excited." he said. I could only wish that I shared his feelings but deep inside I was terrified. As we walked through the main doors into a great hall we could hear the hustle and bustle of the castle servants making sure everything was perfect. A castle guard came forward and dropped to his knee.
" - Welcome My'Lady we have been expecting you. My name is B1979 or B1 for short" he said. He rose up and extended his hand so he could escort me.
" - I wish not to offend you B1 but I have already promised this young lad that he could be my escort for the day if that is alright with you." I said with a smile. He let out a hearty laugh.
" - As you wish My'Lady" he said as he bowed to me and led us to the main hall. The dread in the pit of my stomach seemed to grow more intense. The young lad next to me gave my hand a squeeze of assurance. I glanced over to see him give me a slight smile. I really wanted to believe everything would be OK. B1 led us through a set of double doors into a very large grand room filled with lots of people. A hushed silence fell over the room A stately young man stepped from the crowd. I could feel my heart beating outside of my chest. His dark brown eyes seemed to penetrate right down to my very soul.My head began to spin out of control. I could feel the beast rising once again.
" - He is the one" it hissed. The room seemed to be spinning and I could not feel my grip on the boy's hand. My body seemed to move on its on. The last sound I heard was a low warning growl before my body hit the ground...
