Part 8
" - My soul will disappear anyways. I am not from this world and the gods here are very different from ours. My salvation rests with you and only you. I am willingly giving my life to you. Please do not have me beg." he said pleadingly. I bowed my head.
" - Then I shall give you the peace you seek!" I said as my body began to once again produce the purple aura. I looked him straight in his eyes, the tears no longer present. I could feel the heat and excitement radiating off of him. There was also another scent I smelled, one of fear. I felt his body collapse in my arms as the last of his energy poured into me. For one brief second I saw his soul hover over his body. He was peering at me with loving eyes. His soul bent to kiss me on the lips and I closed my eyes. I will always love you and be apart of your heart. When I opened my eyes his spirit was gone and he was now limp in my arms. Tears that I thought were done earlier began to flood from my eyes. I felt like I had lost a part of me that would never return. I called for Dryvlee beyond the door. He came in and helped me lay Stevos body on his bed. I was shocked to find that he had a smile on his face in death.
" - He must have been happy when he died. Thank you Storm for making his last moments his best. I know what he asked from you was hard but he is now at peace. He loved you to the end." Dryvlee said.
" - Come it is time for you to return to your world to get your son. I will let Ophelia know that Stevos has passed on. I will make sure his body is prepped for burial and we will bury him once you are back. I wish you luck in your journey." he said as he lead me back to my room. I stepped through the doors to find Panda awake and ready to go. He took one look at my face and came over and took me into his arms. The tears returned.
" - It will be alright Majesty !" he whispered in my ear. All of my pain just seemed to come to the surface. I let out a pain-filled scream. Even my beast showed his grief. I could feel him crying inside of me. The beast growled.
" - We must go Majesty before we lose anyone else. The beast was right. I straightened up and thanked Panda for lending me his shoulder to cry on.
" - Panda we need to go now before I lose my son as well." He nodded in agreement. We grabbed our stuff and left the room. We headed to the place that we had teleported to earlier.
" - Majesty are you ready for this?" Panda asked. I shook my head yes. I closed my eyes and thought of my son and Dark. A strange voice invaded my thoughts.
" - Stormslayer I am the Guardian of the worlds. Are you ready to make your sacrifice? the voiced asked. What does the Guardian ask of me? I reply. I require the life within you it replied. I began to panic. Was it really asking me to give it the life of my unborn child? No guardian please do not ask that of me. I would rather give you my own life than that of my daughter. Majesty can you hear me a voiced called out. Panda is that you? I said.
" - Tell the guardian I will give my life in exchange of the childs !" I could not let panda do that.
" - Guardian if you can hear me my name is Chaos Panda. I will freely give my life in exchange for Stormslayer to cross over!" panda said. I could not believe what I was hearing.
" - Storm listen to me. I was never going to be able to cross over with you. This was my last chance to cross over when I brought you here. You have everything you need to cross over inside of yourself. There is nothing left for me and I want to do this for you. If things had been different for your mother and I you would have been my daughter and that would make the child you are carrying my grandchild. Let me do this for you. Tell your parents that I am really sorry for everything.
" - Stormslayer is it your wish to have Chaos Panda be your sacrifice so you can proceed through the portal? |The guardian asked. My heart was so heavy from all the sacrifices that had already been made. I gave a great sigh. It is Guardian I am ready to travel. As Panda's form began to fade away he had a small smile on his face.
" - Thank you for everything Majesty1 " he said and then completely disappeared. I turned and walked through the portal. Legolas was still tied to the tree. He heard me approach and gave a loud snort. I rubbed his neck.
" - I missed you too my old friend." I untied his reins and headed home in a hurry. Castle Lionheart was very silent which was strange. Where were all the guards at? I went in through the main castle doors and the hall was empty. I passed the Great Hall and it was empty as well. I began to become frantic. Something was terribly wrong. I ran through the corridors to my suite and Dark Deaths which was next to mine. GrArgen was the only guard at the door. He awoke with a startle.
" - Thank goodness Majesty you are back." he said as he hugged me.
" - Jorge where is everyone?" i asked. He lowered his head.
" - Colossus saw you leave the other night and ran back to tell the others. The all left before I knew what was happening. Only Cook, myself, mefisto, Dark and Dark death remain.
" - I could not believe what I was hearing. After everything I did to save them and keep them safe. I could not take on the whole guild if they decided to betray me.
" - Come jorge inside with me I have much to discuss and not a lot of time to do it in." I said. I opened the door to Mefisto applying a cold compress to Dark Deaths head.
" - Majesty I am so glad to see you." he said.
" - Where is Dark angel?" I asked Mefisto."
" - I sent him to your rooms to rest. He has been at Dark Deaths bedside since you left." he said. I looked down at my son and noticed he had become so frail looking. I did not have much time left. I ran to the doors separating ours from Dark Deaths room. I stepped into the room and saw Dark tossing and turning in his sleep. I slipped over to him and put my hand on his shoulders. He jumped awake.
" - Has something happened?" he said half asleep. After a few seconds his eyes adjusted and he realized I was next to him. He engulfed me in a bear hug.
" - I am so glad you are safe my love. I was so worried about you." He showered me with kisses.
" - Love you need to get up and come to Dark Deaths room with me. I have much to discuss with those that are left. We do not have much time.
" - I went back to the other room while he got dressed. Jorge looked up at me as I entered into the room.
" - Did you find a cure?" he said. I nodded. Once Dark got into the room I began to explain what happed while I was gone. Dark's eyes grew big when I mentioned Dawg's name.
" - Majesty that is impossible my father died when I was younger. The mages killed him.
" - I went on to explain how he had left with my parents. He shook his head in disbelief. I explained about Stevos death and how Jefe was brewing a cure but could not cross over again.
" - Majesty how did you cross back over?" Dark asked. I explained how Chaos panda had sacrificed himself instead of our child. I could not ruin the surprise of the baby's gender for him.
" - I have 20 hours left to get him back through the portal with me before the portal will automatically pull me back. I want everyone one that is left to come back with me. I have to go back it is one of the conditions. I can no longer stay in this world." I said. GrArgen looked at me with hurt in his eyes.
" - Majesty Mefisto and I can not leave here. This is our home." he pleaded.
" - Jorge I have no other choices. I have to save my son. I would prefer if you two came with me but I can not make you." I said. Anger flared in his eyes.
" - Fine go! Leave me just like everyone else has. I did fine on my own once and I shall do it once again. I do not need you." He turned and stormed out of the room. My heart sank. But the anger flared up. He would rather me stay here and let my son die. I was giving him a chance for a new start but he refused it all for what an empty castle. I shook the thought from my mind. I needed to get DarkDeath to Firefly as soon as possible. Dark came and put his arm around my shoulder.
" - Do not worry Majesty. He will be fine. Cook wants to remain here. I will go wherever you go love." he said. It was settled then. We went and packed a few things to take with us. Dark swept Dark death into his arms and we headed out to our mounts. The trip to the portal sight was a great distance and we arrived just as night fell. The portal was already open and waiting for us. I did not recall calling it forth. I heard laughter coming from the tree lines. I told Dark to get Dark Death and head for the portal. He just stared at me with fear in his eyes. I reassured him I would be right behind him. It was imperative that Dark Death makes it through that portal. He nodded and scooped him up from my arms.
" - We knew you would come back here, Stormslayer." one of the mages said. All 11 of the once twelve council of mages was here. I had already eliminated one of them. Hellfire.
" - You will be taking the boy nowhere another screamed as she froze Dark in his tracks. I was enraged. 11 to 1 was not good odds. Majesty Release me the beast screamed. The mages began releasing electrical balls at me but they seem to disappear before they actually hit me.
" - Release me now majesty. The protection aura will not withstand much more !"the beast said. I closed my eyes and opened the gates for the beast. I felt him take over every nerve in my body. I felt the changes to my body as his essence poured out. Instead of my conscious going into a deep sleep he kept it locked in my eyes so I could relish the killing of the ones that wanted me and my family dead. The mages had to take a step back because the aura radiating from my beast body was intense and raw power. One mage was not so lucky. Her youthful appearance disintegrated before our eyes and left only a hollow husk of her former self. There were tears streaming down here eyes. My beast had just stolen her youth.
